10 Things to Bring on a Backpacking Trip

I am already half way through my trip! I can’t believe it’s already been a month 😭!!! After trecking for some time, I started to really know what items are a necessity when traveling for so long. Here is a list of 10 things I think everyone should bring when traveling for so long!

  1. Headlamp- if you happen to be in Lebanon where the power goes out on the regular, a headlamp will save you.
  2. Blowup pillow- those long train/airplane rides can take a toll on your neck so a pillow is a must!
  3. Compression sacks- literally compresses everything into one packable sack. It’s pretty phenomenal, not gonna lie. Take advantage of them if you plan to backpack!
  4. Ibuprofen- headache? hangover? This is your solution! Don’t be that person that says they can do without it. 2 months is a long time to do without the solution to your hangover!
  5. Portable charger- don’t be the person with a dead camera/phone battery while you’re out and about touring the world! You want to be able to capture the moment! PS: don’t forget to charge your portable charger the night before!
  6. Camera of some kind- photos are inevitable, might as well make sure they’re good quality!
  7. Comfy pants- jeans are your enemy. Stick to some parachute pants and you’ll thank me later.
  8. Multi-port charger- only one outlet available? No worries! Charging more than one thing at a time has never been more simple.
  9. Reusable water bottles- spending money on water is ridiculous when you’re in a first world country with filtered tap water.
  10. Pepper spray and whistle- haven’t used mine yet, but it definitely provides a level of comfort when we’re walking back home in the dark after a long day of exploring or a wild night of partying.
